Bikash Poddar

Bikash Poddar is a painter and sculptor from Kolkata. He grew up amidst the bounty of nature and grew fond of painting in the fifth or sixth standard. There was no artist in his family before him, nor did he know about the concepts of painting technique or that colleges existed to teach art. However, his paternal uncle was a huge influence on his artistic journey. In the thick jungles behind his house, there were birds, ponds, trees for him to observe and adore. At the Kolkata government art college, he learned a myriad of artistic techniques under the influence of his principal, Mr Dhar. He has worked in product design, sculpted multiple pieces, and has had the opportunity to exhibit his work at numerous galleries. His paintings have an influence on red, fantastical locations and a beautiful, blending act of colours.
